The nearest airport to Thassos is the Kavala International Airport (KVA), located on the mainland. Many major airlines operate flights to Kavala from various European cities. From the airport, you can take a taxi or a bus to the port of Keramoti, where you’ll catch a ferry to Thassos. The ferry ride is approximately 35 minutes long and offers stunning views of the Aegean Sea.
By Land and Sea
If you prefer a more scenic route, you can travel by car or train to Thessaloniki, Greece’s second-largest city. From Thessaloniki, it’s a two-hour drive to the port of Kavala or a three-hour drive to the port of Keramoti. Both ports offer frequent ferry services to Thassos. Traveling by land and sea gives you the opportunity to explore more of Greece’s beautiful landscapes along the way.
